I watched the trailer and a few film clips from the film 'Poltergeist'. 

I learnt the following things:
- That this is set in a house with an innocent family.
- That there is no reason why the family is being attacked by the angry spirit.

- There is someone/something trying to kill the family.

Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension  - (Paranormal)
I watched the trailer and a few film clips from the film Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension 

I learnt the following things:
- The film is is based in a house where an innocent family lives.
- The main characters in a family who is being tormented for no reason by paranormal spirits. 
-  The family are paranoid so rig the house with cameras to try and catch some of the evidence that they are being haunted.

This image shows that the actually house is changing which reinforces the feeling that they are not safe even in their own home.

This image shows the young girl of the family being possessed by some sort of ghost.

I watched the trailer and a few film clips from the film 'Hatchet'. 

I learnt the following things:
- That this is set in a very deserted forest where there is not many houses
- That there is a small group of people with each other who are tourists
- There is someone/something trying to kill the group one by one 

This shows the small group of people that are being targeted finding a dead body

This shows a creature all covered in blood

I watched the trailer and a few film clips from the film 'SAW II'. 

I learnt the following things:
- That it is set in a deserted house
- That there is a small group of people who are locked inside and have to try and get out through torturous games and puzzles
- We also learn that they're there because of 'Jigsaw' who is wanted

This is the main villain 'Jigsaw'

I watched the trailer and a few film clips from the film 'Scream'. 

I learnt the following things:
- That it is set in a little town
- That there is also a man that has broke into the town hunting people down
- Due to this we know that everyone else is trying to get away from this psychopath and keep safe

Dead Snow  -  (Zombie)
I watched the trailer and a few film clips from the film 'Dead Snow'. 

I learnt the following things:
- Film is based in the mountains where there is lots of snow.
- The zombies appear from the ground and from under the snow
- The people that are attacked found an object that made the zombies attack them.

This shows the object that the people who where on a skiing trip that awoke the zombies.

This shows the up rise of the zombies appearing from the ground.

I watched the trailer and a few film clips from the film Zombieland'. 

I learnt the following things:
- The film is is based around a world wide invasion of zombies
- The two main characters are completely different but meet due to the zombie invasion. 
-  The characters who managed to survive have been able to learn how to deal with the zombie invasion.

This is used to show how unexpected the zombie attacks where and that no one is safe even loved ones of the zombie.

This shows the abandon area that the film is set in and the violence that is in the film.

Shaun of the dead  -  (Zombie)
I watched the trailer and a few film clips from the film 'Shaun of the dead'. 

I learnt the following things:
- The film is is based around two ordinary men who's lives unfortunately take a turn for the worst. 
- This zombie in the attack is a national attack and warnings are given out. 
- The men quickly find out how deal with the zombies and tell their loved ones what to do.

This is the moment the audience find out that the zombie attack is a national crisis
 

This is shown to be when the main character (Shaun) is telling his loved ones how to deal with the zombie attacks

Pumpkinhead - (Neo-Monsters)
I watched the trailer and a few film clips from the film 'Pumpkinhead'. 

I learnt the following things:
- The film is set in a desolate town of America, within a run-down house in a forest.
- This film shows trial of a man who has lost his son and seeks vengeance against this creature.
- The creature is known for brutal killings, yet an old women has ways of contacting this creature.

This shows the pumkinhead attempting to kill one of the innocent people in the village

This shows the man trying to kill the creature but being brutally injured in the process

Alien - (Neo-Monsters)
I watched the trailer and a few film clips from the film 'Alien. 

I learnt the following things:
- The film is set in a futuristic world, the main story is set within a spaceship, after visiting a new found planet.
- This film shows the discovery of a new creature. The characters then bring the creature onto the ship.
- The creature begins to inhabit people causing them to die. The creature then begins to try and murder all of the characters. 

This shows the confrontation between the main character and the alien

This shows the alien faetus inhabiting one of the characters within the spaceship

The Thing - (Neo-Monsters)
I watched the trailer and a few film clips from the film 'The Thing'. 

I learnt the following things:
- The film is set an extremely desolate artic area, that is being used for scientific research.
- This film portrays themes of discovery of a new being, this being is awoken and begins to cause havoc.
- The being possesses extreme features, it sets out to kill and brutally hurt the scientists.

This highlights the beast attempting to morph out of a character, this is after killing this character brutally.

This shows the main character attempting to kill the beast with a flamethrower

(Reflection) Reflection on Research Task

Reflection on our Research task:

Luca:

• I learnt that it would be difficult to re-create a R&B film as the location is extremely important. The location needs to be remote and preferably far away from a civilised town/city. 
• I also learnt that it would also be difficult to re-create the necessary make-up to emulate the incestuous people within the conventional films. 
• Lastly, I learnt that it would be extremely difficult to find the necessary amount of people to emulate a 'backwood' community that is so commonly featured in these films.

Sam:

• I learnt that we are able to re-create the setting that is conventionally used in Home invasion films, as we would be able to find a large house to film our opening sequence.
• I learnt that we would also be able to use face masks to cover the identity of the 'invader' and also to intimidate the victims, this would be part of our props.

Ben:

• I learnt that it would be very difficult to re-create scenes of levitation within our opening sequence, although this is not always necessary, I feel that it makes the film much more scary.
• I also learnt that it would be difficult to emulate the 'possessed' acting that would be required within our opening sequence of this sub-genre

Jamaal:

• I learnt that it would be very difficult to re-create the high level of make-up that is required to make the zombies look realistic. 
• I also learnt that it would be hard to find a suitable location that is deserted and and in ruin which is conventionally shown in zombie opening sequences.

Dead Rising: Watchtower - (Zombie)
I watched the trailer and a few film clips from the film 'Dead Rising - Watchtower'.

I learnt the following things:
- We learnt that the film is set a city
- We also learnt that a virus is causing people in the city to turn into a zombie
- We learn that the 2 main characters team up with a small group of other survivors to escape the city

This is one of the many victims that has turned into a zombie

I watched the trailer and a few film clips from the film 'Halloween'

I learnt the following things:
- We learnt that the film is set in a town that is not highly populated
- We learnt that a man breaks out of an institution as he previously murdered some of his family
- We also learn that he breaks out to hunt a younger girl (his sister that was a survivor).

I learnt the following things:
- We learnt that the film is located in a city
- We learnt that the film is about 2 main characters who face a zombie attack 
- We also learn that these characters are trying to keep their land and find a small group to help them

This shows 2 others that are part of their small group

I learnt the following things:
- We learn that it is located in an apartment in Spain
- We learn that the film is about some people who walk into this house to find a diseased girl
- We can also see that it is recorded in a 'found footage' style

- We also learn that these characters find a small group who aren't infected and trying to escape

I learnt the following things:
- We learn that it is located in an outskirt of a town that has a low population 
- We learn that the film is about a women who has her daughter turned into a zombie who also attacks her father.    
- The women (Ana) has to escape with a small group as most of her town have also been attacked.
